WHAT IS
VENETIAN PLASTERING?
Venetian plastering is a traditional decorative finishing technique that combines natural materials such as slaked lime and finely ground marble dust to create smooth, polished surfaces with a timeless sense of elegance and depth. Applied in multiple ultra-thin layers by hand, each stage is carefully built up and refined using a trowel, allowing subtle movement, tonal variation, and a naturally rich character to develop within the finish.
As the material is worked, it begins to take on a soft, stone-like quality, with delicate shifts in texture and tone that make every surface completely unique. The final stages often involve polishing or burnishing the plaster, enhancing its natural sheen and allowing it to gently reflect light, adding warmth, brightness, and a sense of spaciousness to an interior.
